Captain Alex Gidman hit 76 not out to help Gloucestershire to a four-wicket win against Surrey inside three days.
Set 160 to win at The Oval, the visitors were wobbling on 54-5 as Yasir Arafat (3-49) and Tim Linley (3-59) bowled Surrey into a winning position.
But Gidman put on 67 with Richard Coughtrie and an unbroken 40 with Ed Young to see his side home on 161-6.
Earlier, Ian Saxelby ended with a career-best 6-69 as Surrey slumped from 145-5 overnight to 195 all out.
The paceman's second-innings haul also meant he ended with personal best match figures of 10-142.
Gloucestershire's victory enabled them to leapfrog Surrey in the Division Two table and climb into promotion contention in third, seven points behind second-placed Middlesex.
