Dorset coach Sean Walbridge says his side will use Tuesday's victory over Wiltshire as a stepping stone to climb the Minor Counties Western Division.
The win moves Dorset up to third in the table having drawn their first match of the term with Devon last month.
"The win has given us a lift, it's a stepping stone for the rest of the season," he told BBC Radio Solent.
"We're really pleased to have a win on the board now and it will set us on our way for the rest of the campaign."
Walbridge is hoping his side will recreate the form they showed against Wiltshire for their remaining three matches, starting with Herefordshire on 10-12 July.
"We go to there now and if we can play as well as we did at Wiltshire we will give ourselves every chance of winning that game," he said.
"If we can control our games and win as many as possible then that should take us near the top of the table.
"If we can beat Herefordshire then we would've played three, won two and drawn one, and that will put us in a very strong position for the remaining three games of the season."
