Herefordshire earned a draw from their Minor Counties Championship match against Shropshire at Bridgnorth.

The home side required 17 to win from the final over but pulled up six runs short of their victory target.

A fine 152 from Steve Adshead had earlier helped Herefordshire to 446-7 dec, setting the home side 370 in 67 overs to win.

Shropshire skipper Ed Foster made 100 to lead the run chase but Herefordshire held on for the draw and 11 points.

Herefordshire skipper Chris Boroughs told BBC Hereford and Worcester: "We had spoken about the difficulty of setting a target, especially on a fast-scoring ground.

"You don't know if they are going to get off to a flier if you declare too early.

"In the end it made for an exciting finish even if it didn't quite go for either us or Shropshire but I think everyone appreciated that there was an exciting end to the game."
