Essex have fined captain James Foster for questioning an umpire's decision in a Twenty20 match with Surrey in June.
The 31-year-old was reported by umpires David Millns and Trevor Jesty for showing serious dissent following his dismissal in the defeat at the Oval.
Foster received three penalty points from the England and Wales Cricket Board for the incident.
"James has been severely reprimanded and fined," said Essex chief executive David East.
"He has also been reminded of his obligations for personal discipline and for maintaining an appropriate example as captain of the club."
