Lancashire inflicted a 10-wicket hammering on Derbyshire in the North Group t20 meeting at Old Trafford.

After restricting the visitors to 81-8 from their 20 overs, openers Stephen Moore (52no) and Tom Smith (26no) took just nine overs to reach the target.

Having choosen to bat first, Derbyshire never came to terms with incisive Lancashire bowling, with Junaid Khan (3-12) the pick of the attack.

Only four men reached double figures, Chesney Hughes top-scoring with 16.

Lancashire bowler Farveev Maharoof told BBC Radio Manchester:

"That was a perfect game. The bowling, fielding and batting, we just outplayed them.

"Twenty20 is all about momentum, and we've got it and want to keep it up.

"He [Junaid Khan] is bowling really well since he came across. He's been very effective by keeping things simple and my role and his role are pretty much the same.
