Leading Glamorgan T20 wicket-taker Robert Croft has stood down from their next two games.
Croft was overlooked during the latter stages of Tuesday's defeat by Somerset and will not play against Sussex on Thursday and Essex on Friday.
But the 41-year-old spinner will be with the party as a mentor to younger players.
A Glamorgan website statement read: "Croft has decided to step aside for, at least, the next two matches."
The statement says Croft took the decision "to allow other squad players an opportunity to play".
Former England off-spinner Croft had taken three wickets for nine runs in his three overs.
But he and Gareth Rees were left in the field as Somerset ensured victory at the Swalec Stadium.
Croft's absence also comes in the wake of skipper Alviro Petersen expressing a desire to see young players given a chance while Glamorgan ponder another failed T20 campaign.
They have won three of their 12 games to date and lost seven while two more have fallen victim to the weather.
After the games against Sussex and and Essex, Glamorgan twice face Gloucestershire.
On Sunday, 10 July Matthew Mott's side travel to the Memorial Ground, Bristol and Gloucestershire are at the Swalec Stadium on Friday, 15 July to end the Welsh county's T20 campaign.
Injuries rule out Dean Cosker and Graham Wagg from the back-to-back games while Mark Cosgrove is to undergo a fitness text on a side strain.
Glamorgan have named a 14-man squad for the games at Hove and Chelmsford.
Glamorgan: Alviro Petersen (capt), Mark Cosgrove, Jim Allenby, Gareth Rees, Stewart Walters, Mike O'Shea, Chris Cooke, David Brown, Mark Wallace (wicket-keeper), Nick James, James Harris, Alex Jones, Simon Jones, Will Owen.
