Truro captain Tom Sharp wary of Troon threat

Truro captain Tom Sharp says his side will have to be at their best against Troon to retain their position at the top of Cornwall's Premier League.

An eight-wicket win over St Just last weekend put Truro three points clear of Paul at the top of the standings.

Sharp's side face newly promoted Troon in their next match on Saturday.

He told BBC Cornwall: "Troon have done really well and they've had good performances in almost every game so it'll be a good test on Saturday."

He added: "We had a real dip recently when we played Paul and then Callington and we've got them consecutively again, so the next few weeks will be quite telling.

"It's very close at the top but we'll take confidence from beating St Just because we haven't beaten them for a while."

Troon are currently seventh in the standings, with two wins and two draws from their nine matches.
