Murali Kartik has revealed he will wait until the end of the season to decide on his Somerset future.

The former India Test spinner is in his second term at the club but also plays for IPL side Pune Warriors, meaning a heavy schedule for the 34-year-old.

"Come the end of the season I will have a look at it," he told BBC Somerset.

"I'll always take one season at a time. Having played seven seasons in a row, sometimes you have to look at your body, you get lots of niggles."

He added: "Even after the IPL I haven't had any time, within five days I was playing a game.

"I've got to consider family equations. My wife doesn't seem very happy to lock her house every year. It's one of those things where we'll take a call."

This season, Kartik has taken 11 wickets in Division One, where Somerset currently sit fourth, and is joint-leading wicket-taker in the FL t20 with 16.

Despite his indecision over his future, Kartik was quick to added: "I've enjoyed it here. The fact that you are playing for a side which is up there with the best in the country.

"Sometimes it's hard on your body, it's a mental thing sometimes but that's what you pride yourself in and I'm very pleased to be playing for Somerset."
