James Taylor not focused on England Test call-up
Leicestershire opener James Taylor insists he is not thinking about a call-up to the England Test side.
The 21-year-old is skippering the Lions against Sri Lanka A and further pressed his claims with a watchful 76 in England's first innings on Tuesday.
But he told BBC Sport: "It [Test call] doesn't really bother me too much. It's so easy to look too far ahead rather than concentrate on the here and now.
"I try to block it all out not think too far ahead."
But Taylor knows scoring runs in the four-day game at Scarborough, as he did in his last Lions appearance, will add weight to the ever-growing call for him to be included in the full Test squad.
"It's another opportunity to show the selectors what I can do and express myself and score runs," Taylor said. "Consistenecy is the key at the moment."
