Oxfordshire captain Ian Hawtin says his side are feeling confident of a win ahead of their final Minor Counties game against Cheshire.
He told BBC Radio Oxford: "We played all the cricket against Berkshire. It was the first time they dropped any points at all (this season).
"We came very close to winning, so I think we can go up to Cheshire with a lot of confidence."
Oxfordshire have had a mixed season with one solitary win against Dorset.
Hawtin feels his side have been hampered by injury but insists the future looks bright.
"If we can get the key players who were injured for us fit, then I think we have a good side and a good squad to challenge on all fronts next year," he added.
"Jamie Perkin has just come into the side and he has done extremely well.
"He scores runs in most games and tops the averages at the moment. He is certainly one for the future.
"Chad [Keegan] has had first-class experience and has brought a lot to the team."
