Title-chasing Somerset's weather-ruined game with Nottinghamshire ended in a stale draw at Taunton.
After losing almost the whole of the first two days to rain, a result was always unlikely.
But more bad weather meant a further 41 overs lost on the final day.
When play got underway, Samit Patel marked his England one-day call with a third ton of the summer, while Riki Wessels hit a season's best 82 as Notts earned maximum batting points on 402-9.
Somerset left-arm spinner George Dockrell claimed two wickets in two balls on his Championship debut, while Charl Willoughby ended with 4-76.
But the home team had to be satisfied with six points from the match to further dent their title aspirations - leaving them 21 adrift of new leaders Lancashire, who they play in the season finale at Taunton next month.
