Relegation-threatened Yorkshire fell 32 runs short in a spirited victory bid at Scarborough as they were forced to settle for a draw against Sussex.
But the nine points they picked up from the draw lifts them out of the Division One bottom two ahead of Worcestershire.
Mike Yardy hit his second century of the match (122) as Sussex, 126-3 overnight, declared on 333-6.
But, despite Jacques Rudolph's 120, on a day of more than 500 runs, the Tykes fell frustratedly short on 312-6.
More to follow.
