Chris Wood's half-century guided Hampshire to a draw with Worcestershire on a rain-plagued final day.

Bad weather prevented play until after tea at The Rose Bowl when Hampshire resumed on 84-6 - just 59 ahead.

Worcestershire needed quick wickets to give themselves a chance of victory but they never materialised.

Wood (56 not out) and Dimitri Mascheranas built an unbeaten stand of 79 to see Hampshire to 157-6 when hands were shaken.

POST-MATCH VIEWS

Worcestershire's director of cricket Steve Rhodes told BBC Hereford and Worcester:

"It's been a very frustrating day as it has taken a long time for us to get out there.

"Yorkshire lost badly and we had an opportunity here to put points between us and them.

"But we have got three big games to come and two of those are at home, although the game against Lancashire will be tough as they are obviously riding high.

"But we were right at Blackpool and we should take a lot of confidence going into that game."
