Alex Hales deserves England Twenty20 call-up - Broad

Hales will have to get to grips with the step up to international level

England Twenty20 captain Stuart Broad has said Nottinghamshire team-mate Alex Hales deserves his chance to be part of the international one-day set-up.

Hales is in the team for Wednesday's Twenty20 fixture against India.

And Broad told BBC Sport: "He's a tall, strong guy, a powerful hitter and has an extremely high strike-rate in Twenty20 cricket from opening.

"I'm sure he's excited about playing international cricket because he's shone for Notts this year."
