Cambridgeshire captain Paul McMahon is confident his side can overcome the pressure to end their 48-year wait for the Minor Counties title.

McMahon, 28, will lead a youthful side out at March on Sunday in the four-day game against Devon.

"The team have certainly been exposed to a lot of pressure situations," he told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire.

"They've played a lot of cricket for Premier League clubs and I'm confident they will equip themselves very well."

The former Notts spinner posted figures of 7-129 with the ball against Staffordshire two weeks ago to secure his side's place in the final.

And the March pitch could prove vital to Cambs' chances against Devon.

"Certainly spin could play quite a large part in the game, we know what the wicket will be like," McMahon added.

"It brings the slow bowlers into the game and the fielders around the batsman and I'm confident we can do a job based on our previous success at March."
