Jersey failed to deal with spin as they slumped to a 44 run defeat in their opening warm-up match for the ICC World Cricket League Division Six tournament.
Jersey were bowled out for 96 by the Malaysian Royal Air Force in Kuala Lumper as they chased a total of 140.
Tom Minty and Ben Stevens each took two wickets for Jersey, while Anthony Kay top-scored with the bat with 25 no.
"They have to get used to playing spin in this part of the world," said coach Craig Hogan.
"They'll see a lot more when the tournament proper starts," he added.
Despite the loss Hogan says his side have gained experience of the conditions in Malaysia.
"This was a good work out and learning experience - bowlers and fielders did very well and had the batters played straighter to combat the spinners it would have been a different game," he said.
