Leicestershire are out of the Champions League T20 after losing to Ruhuna Rhinos by four runs in Hyderabad to finish bottom of Pool A.
Harry Gurney took 3-33 as Ruhuna posted 160-6, a total built around Dinesh Chandimal's 62 not out.
Abdul Razzaq hit 68 in 46 balls to keep the Foxes in the hunt for the win that would have kept their chances alive.
But, after he was caught behind off Janaka Gunaratne (3-27), their challenge fell away, ending on 156-8.
It means Leicestershire lost both of their fixtures in the qualifying competition, having also been beaten by pool winners Trinidad & Tobago on Tuesday.
Their exit meant that, in his final game, veteran wicketkeeper Paul Nixon did not get to finish his career on quite the high note he had hoped for.
Victory was not enough for Ruhuna to progress as Kolkata Knight Riders claimed best runners-up spot despite losing to Somerset by 11 runs in the final qualification game.
