Somerset have signed all-rounder Roelof van der Merwe as their overseas player for the majority of next season.
He played five games for the county in the FL t20 last term and also helped them to reach the semi-final of the Champions League T20 in India.
The 26-year-old South African replaces spinner Murali Kartik, who opted against a third stint at Taunton.
Somerset will also welcome back fellow all-rounder Kieron Pollard for his third T20 term with the club.
Van der Merwe was originally brought in as cover for Pollard, who missed the start of last season's campaign as he was on international duty with West Indies.
He will be available from 1 June until 20 September and director of cricket Brian Rose has confirmed they will be looking to sign another overseas player to cover between April and May.
