Sussex wicketkeeper/batsman Ben Brown has agreed a new contract which will run to the end of the 2013 season.

The 23-year-old has signed a 12-month extension to his previous deal, having established himself as a first-team regular at Hove.

"This is where I have grown up playing my cricket and I want to continue here in the future," he said.

Brown, from Crawley, played 27 games in all competitions last season with Matt Prior frequently away on England duty.

"We're delighted he has agreed to a one-year extension on his contract. This will give him further time to develop his game and work hard to produce excellent performances in seasons to come," said Sussex skipper Michael Yardy.
