Batsman Tom Maynard has signed a one-year contract extension with Surrey.
The 22-year-old, who joined the county from Glamorgan at the start of the year, will now stay at The Oval until the end of the 2014 season.
He scored 1,022 first-class runs last term at an average of 41 and also averaged more than 40 in the CB40 and FP t20 competitions.
"I am really pleased to sign an extension to my contract," Maynard told the club website.
His three centuries helped Surrey win promotion back to Division One of the Championship and he added: "I have enjoyed my first season at the club.
"To be part of a winning team is something every cricketer strives for and I am positive we will continue to build on our achievements in 2012."
