Pietersen criticises one-day selection in December

Batsman Kevin Pietersen has retired from international limited-overs cricket. In December 2011 he said England "used too many players" in one-day cricket and have struggled for consistency as a result.

While England impressed in the longer form of the game in 2011 to become the number one Test side in the world, they struggled in one-day internationals - recently suffering a 5-0 whitewash in India.

Speaking on the BBC News channel, Pietersen also played down any feud with England team-mate Graeme Swann following criticism of him in Swann's autobiography, but describes the book as "not clever in the middle of your career".
