Hampshire bowler James Tomlinson believes relegation will give a chance to players who have come through the Rose Bowl youth system.
Tomlinson signed a new two-year deal with the county on Friday.
"We've lost Dominic Cork and Simon Jones but it will give David Griffiths and David Balcombe a chance," Tomlinson told BBC Radio Solent.
"It's great that people who have come through the age groups here are going to form the nucleus of the side."
The 29-year-old continued: "People like Hamza Riazuddin, Danny Briggs, Griffiths and myself are all Hampshire through and through.
"There's a real feeling of excitement about the place. We're positive about next season."
