Derbyshire have appointed Simon Storey as successor to outgoing chief executive Keith Loring.
Storey, 42, leaves his position as country manager with Johnson & Johnson to take up his new role at the beginning of April.
Loring will stay on in a consultancy role after a six-month handover period.
Chairman Chris Grant said: "Keith has been instrumental in transforming the look of the County Ground and that is his legacy."
Grant added: "I'm absolutely delighted that the club will be able to retain access to his commercial skills and I am convinced that Keith will unlock additional revenue streams in his new consultancy role.
"Keith has worked tirelessly to improve the off-field performance at Derbyshire in his three-and-a-half years as chief executive.
"I would like to offer him my sincere thanks for his efforts and the support he has offered during my time as chairman."
