Match scorecard

No play was possible on the third day of the County Championship match between Durham and Somerset.

It now means two successive days have been abandoned at Chester-le-Street following

The hosts were dismissed for 125 on the opening day, with Somerset gaining a 95-run lead by close on 220-8.

Durham are yet to win a game this season and are bottom of the Divison One table, while Somerset have one win from their opening four matches.

BBC Newcastle's Martin Emmerson:

"It has been raining for the best part of 45 hours. They'll try again tomorrow [Saturday].

"But this now means Durham have effectively lost 11 days already this season to the elements and we are only into game five.

"I pity the brave souls who journeyed up here from Cornwall for this one. The forecast for Saturday seems to be a lot better though. Fingers crossed."
