Worcestershire are still without a win in six County Championship matches this season after drawing at home to Sussex.

Resuming on 143-0, Ed Joyce (108no) and Chris Nash (98) took their opening stand to 189 as Sussex declared on 258-4, setting a target of 315 in 60 overs.

After the early loss of skipper Daryl Mitchell, fellow opener Michael Klinger (67) and former captain Vikram Solanki (44no) averted any threat of defeat.

Worcestershire then reached 174-4 before hands were shaken on a draw.

BBC Sussex's Adrian Harris:

"As with so many games this 'summer" the weather had the final say, a delayed start meaning 24 overs were lost on the final day. But the Sussex declaration always looked conservative, the home side only briefly showing an interest in chasing the runs.

"Sussex will take a lot of positives from this match. Chris Nash, Ed Joyce, Mike Yardy and Joe Gatting are all in good form with the bat and, once Murray Goodwin finds his form, Sussex will have a very powerful batting unit.

"Luke Wright is in the squad for the CB 40 match at Northampton on Sunday and, if he proves his form and fitness, then cricket manager Mark Robinson may have some interesting selection decisions for the Championship match against Nottinghamshire next Friday."
