The bad weather once again played havoc with Northants' game against Essex in the County Championship with day three washed out without a ball being bowled.
Persistent rain at Wantage Road meant the covers never left the field and play was abandoned at 12:20 BST by umpires Trevor Jesty and Tim Robinson.
It means Ravi Bopara will have to wait until Saturday to try and score his second century in a week.
Bopara is currently 87 not out with Essex on 195-4 with a day remaining.
