Australia batsman Mike Hussey has withdrawn from the forthcoming one-day series against England due to the premature birth of his fourth child.

The 37-year-old left-hander, who has scored 5,262 runs in 181 one-day internationals, will be replaced by Peter Forrest, the Queensland batsman.

Forrest, 26, has played 11 ODIs, making 104 in Sri Lanka in his fourth match.

The Australians play an ODI in Ireland before a five-match ODI series with England from 29 June to 10 July.

"Due to our baby being born three months early, it is important for the family for me to be here at this time," said Hussey, who has scored 663 runs in 29 internationals against England at an average of 39, with a top score of 84.

"It is always difficult to miss any tour for Australia and I thank CA [Cricket Australia] for their understanding of our family's situation."
