Australia batsman Shaun Marsh debuts in Welsh Dragons win

Shaun Marsh made his Welsh Dragons debut as they warmed up for their Friends Life T20 campaign with an 83-run win over a Swalec Premier League XI in Cardiff.

The Australian scored 43 as the Welsh Dragons reached 239 for four in their 20 overs.

Mark Wallace top scored for the Welsh Dragons with 62 while Jim Allenby (56) and Martin van Jaarsveld (46) also contributed to their total.

In reply Lloyd Smith scored an unbeaten 105 but it was not enough for the League XI who ended their 20 overs on 156 for four.

Marsh is set to make his competitive debut for the Welsh Dragons in their opening T20 match against Northamptonshire on Thursday.
