Darren Stevens took a season's best 5-35 as Kent boosted their promotion hopes with victory over Leicestershire by 147 runs at Grace Road.
After Leicestershire declared on their overnight 171-3, Kent soon made 103-2 to set the hosts 283 to win.
Mark Davies (3-24) struck twice to reduce Leicestershire to 13-3 before Stevens ripped through the middle order to help bowl them out for only 135.
Kent's win puts them third, four points behind second-placed Yorkshire.
They trail Derbyshire by a further 19 points but face the Division Two leaders at Canterbury in their next game, starting on Tuesday.
