England proving against India what a brilliant team they are in the absence of KP
Ranasinghe Premadasa Stadium in Colombo will witness a mouth watering contest between two extremely competitive cricket forces of our time. Both India and England have quality batters and bowlers and would love to face each other once again in the finals. Today's encounter is like an appetizer before the main course. Wishing the two sides a long stay in the Fourth World Cup.Dr. Cajetan Coelho
Good win, shame for Afghanistan. Hope they do better in any other matches. Bring on India!!!
As far as I am concerned the more countries playing cricket the better, so in that respect a warm welcome to Afghanistan. Twenty years ago Sri Lanka were the new kids on the block, they are now a force to be reckoned with, Bangladesh are now on the up too, who knows where the Afghans will end up...who will be next?
@39 From cricket to that in just 39 comments. Thats possibly a tangent setting world record
@30 "The only difference being that on this occasion we are the Germans trying to spread our "we are better than everyone else message and anyone who doesnt agree can die in their homeland."Err no. It's more like "we take exception to you running terror camps where you train people to come to our country and blow innocent people up in the streets." Are bleeding heart liberals allowed on here?
37. TheOracleofDelphi +++Very pleased with the fielding, good knock by wright but we won't really find anything out until the last eight.
@35Hardly the same thing. Now if Afghanistan had been playing a team from the time of the Catholic Inquisiton, then you might have a point! But enough of that. What did you think about the cricket match?
I thought our fielding was exemplary. Conversely this is the area the Afghans have really let themselves down in, both here and against India. Out of the three disciplines, fielding is the one they can drill over and over again. If they do that, then they could really do some damage.
34. TheOracleofDelphi @30 Paul SmithYour analogy would only hold water if the England of Christmas 1914 had contained a group of religious nutters hellbent on a regime of oppression. +++It did!
@30 Paul SmithYour analogy would only hold water if the England of Christmas 1914 had contained a group of religious nutters hellbent on a regime of oppression. One where it is acceptable to throw acid into the faces of young girls simply because they want to go to school. I suggest you stick to commenting on the cricket match, rather than blethering nonsense.
met Luke in Wellington Hospital a few years ago, must have fixed him up good! well done lad
Yet another boring massacre of the innocents
It seems as tho` England have finally found players that can hit a ball cleanlyfor far too long we had established players who could not , always gettingbogged down at crucial stages of the game , the game has definitely movedon from the days of Boycott , Atherton etc thank goodness .
