Glamorgan ease to warm-up victory

Marcus North

Glamorgan warmed up for their limited-overs season under new captain Marcus North with a 37-run victory over a North Wales Premier League XI.

The match at Mochdre had to be cut from 40 to 20 overs a side because of rain.

Glamorgan batted first and ran up 152-4, North top-scoring with 35 not out.

In reply the combined clubs side slumped to 41-5, Mike Reed claiming 3-29 in his four overs, before 52 not out from South African Martin Burger steered them to a respectable 115-5.

Glamorgan begin their YB40 season against Yorkshire Vikings at Colwyn Bay on Sunday, following the Championship match against Lancashire on the same ground.
