61 Leo - I do take your point, but when Broad acts as "the aggressor" he usually takes 0-120...off about 25 overs. Also, Finn's 4/63 illustrates an earlier point I made - it makes his career stats look good, but again 3 of them were lower order batsmen and he went at 4 an over in a tight game...Jimmy Anderson took the top 4 batsmen in the order and went at 2 an over...
England building nicely with Root hitting a 50. This boy can play!
but looks like another draw on the cards.===Weather aside, I honestly do not know how anyone can predict this is going to be a draw
.panamaroadotahuhu2LOl, I was at that test match! Daft police plane shadowing didnt help matters.@71Agree, long way to go in this test, still anybodies.
Yet again.....when will people learn not to get hysterical after just one innings of a Test match??? Always wait until both teams have batted. Now it's down to England to bat well. I'm not saying England were good enough in the 1st innings but please keep perspective before posting ridiculous comments.
Gowers great Tiger Moth incident Sit down.Good enough to get the English batsmen out mate.Anyway things are looking up for you, thanks to Jimmy -- your one decent bowler is keeping you in this match, because god help me the rest of them are not much chop.
ZozzaSit down. If you read the post properly you'd see I was criticising my own team more than NZ. Anyway - Southee 75 wkts @ 36; Wagner 20 @ 41; Boult 43 @ 31 is hardly a wolf pack.
Again England's thinking they already won this test. We should be beating these but looks like another draw on the cards.
Heh heh wortharead, faircall, but I would rather be in the Kiwis position than Englands. Just letting off a bit of steam mate as the Gowers Great Tigersmoth fella had the temerity to call the Kiwis bowling attack mediocre. I don't know what that makes the English batting line up in that case. I really would not be surprised if we (the Kiwis) do win this test though.
Everyone seems to go o n about the playersbut I'm not sure if it isn't the management that needs a shake upFlower and Miller have been sitting pretty for a while nowand it is them who've been bereft of ideasslow and unwilling to make changesTime for a changeSame old boring England especially without KPMediocrity is usually reserved for a team like NZ but they're playing like a good team
@64Potential egg on face comment that one!Test is delicatlely poised, could go either way, clouds are forboding..
Hey, Gowers great Tiger Moth incident my comment got removed. Heres something for you though: You guys are going to lose mate. We are going to whip your MEDIOCRE Pommies team's backside in this test and the next. Pray for rain mate because your team is about as good as the local grannies 2nd 11.
Smithy - Unsure of Vince and Ervine, but what the hell at least it's not Bell (sorry). I would bring KP back tho'
Go for it Smithy.... but they will need some games to get it together before the Ashes start.
38. Jimmy73"Broad's role in the team should not be to be "aggressive"..."Agree and disagree with you there. All great quicks are aggressive, so he shouldn't take that out of his game, but agree - as I made the point in a previous comment - that team strategy has defined his role as 'aggressor'. In 'boxing' players into a role, the team strategy has lessened them. Conditions also play a part.
