Cook in form as England dominate

England closed day three of the second Test on 116-1 in their second innings, with a lead of 296 over New Zealand.

They added only 17 with their final three first innings wickets and were 354 all out, before the tourists reached 50 without loss in 74 balls.

Nine wickets fell in 26 overs before a last wicket stand of 52 inside five overs took the Kiwis to 174 all out.

England opted against the follow on and though Nick Compton (7) fell, Alastair Cook (88) made his 30th Test fifty.
