Derbyshire were skittled for 72, their lowest Twenty20 score, as they suffered a 79-run defeat to Leicestershire.
Medium pacer Anthony Ireland tore through Derbyshire's top order, taking 4-11, only Shivnarine Chanderpaul (25) reaching double figures.
Earlier Greg Smith and Ned Eckersley both scored 42, Alex Hughes taking 3-32, as Leicestershire posted 151-6.
Derbyshire must now beat Durham on Sunday and hope other results go their way to qualify for the quarter-finals.
Leicestershire, who now have seven points from nine games, are already out.
