Gloucestershire have extended the loan of Middlesex spinner Tom Smith.
The 25-year-old was initially signed as injury cover for their FLt20 campaign but has now been made available for their Championship match with Northants, which starts on Friday.
Gloucestershire director of cricket John Bracewell said the club may also try to keep Smith for August's YB40 games if they can afford to.
"It's all budget driven," Bracewell told BBC Gloucestershire.
"I've got enough to get me through the next two weeks and then the well runs dry and I have to go cap in hand to the board again."
Smith finished as Gloucestershire's leading wicket-taker in the Twenty20 this season - taking 11 in 36.0 overs.
