Will Gidman made a career-best 143 as Gloucestershire remained in the box seat against Leicestershire.
Gidman, who made his second first-class ton as the hosts, resuming on 210-4, declared on 516-9.
Hamish Marshall contributed 81 and Tom Smith 50 as Gloucestershire claimed maximum bonus points.
Winless Leicestershire closed on 60-1 in their second innings, still 339 runs short of avoiding an innings defeat.
Gidman, whose only other first-class ton for Gloucestershire came in 2011 against Northants, shared stands of 97 with Marshall and 131 with Smith.
His 183-ball knock contained two sixes and 16 fours and when he was bowled by Shiv Thakor (2-49) to be ninth man out, Gloucestershire declared with a first-innings lead of 399.
David Payne then took the early wicket of Greg Smith, leg before for nine, to keep the hosts firmly in control.
