Graeme McCarter took five wickets as Gloucestershire defended a challenging total of 189-6 to win at Sussex in a pulsating T20 Blast encounter that went down to the final ball.
Ian Cockbain hit 84 from 51 balls but no other visiting batsmen exceeded 28.
In reply, Sussex looked well set at 105-3, but Rory Hamilton-Brown's exit after a fine 49 led to a mini-collapse.
And McCarter took the final three wickets in a late home slump to finish with 5-35 and seal victory.
