Andrew Flintoff has been named in Lancashire's T20 Blast squad for their home match with Northants on Friday.
He has not been selected in the starting XI at Old Trafford but has been added to the squad as cover.
The 36-year-old, who quit the sport in 2010, has been training with the county and played in a second XI game against Leicestershire earlier this month.
Flintoff, who played seven Twenty20 internationals for England, last made a T20 domestic appearance five years ago.
He scored 93 from 41 balls against Derbyshire in June 2009, before taking 2-32 in four overs as Lancashire won by 56 runs.
