Sri Lanka build lead against England

Sri Lanka fought back on day three of the second and final Test at Headingley to open up a lead of 106 over England.

England resumed with a lead of 63 on 320-6 but added only 45 more as captain Angelo Mathews and Shaminda Eranga finished with four wickets apiece.

Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene added 79 for the third wicket before part-time off-spinner Moeen Ali struck twice in three balls.

But Jayawardene's patient unbeaten 55 helped Sri Lanka close on 214-4.
