|NatWest T20 Blast, Ageas Bowl|
|Middlesex Panthers 173-6 (20ovs) beat Hampshire 123 (16.4 ovs) by 50 runs|
Hampshire were skittled for just 123 as they suffered a surprising 50-run defeat at the hands of Middlesex.
Big-hitting Paul Stirling struck 64 and received good support from teenager Ryan Higgins (31) and Dan Christian (29) as the visitors posted 173-6.
James Vince (24) got Hampshire off to a flying start but, once he was dismissed wickets fell regularly and the hosts were bowled out in just 16.4 overs.
Medium-pacer Neil Dexter was the pick of the Middlesex bowlers with 3-34.
The lack of momentum in Hampshire's innings was highlighted by the fact Vince and Michael Carberry's opening stand of 35 was the highest partnership, while Australian Glenn Maxwell failed once again with the bat as he made only 10.
The victory for Middlesex, who sit bottom of the South Group, was just their second of the campaign, while Hampshire remain in second place on 14 points, but have played at least one game more than all of the teams around them.
