Heavy rain brought Durham's One-Day Cup tie against Middlesex to an end after just 14 overs at Chester-Le-Street.

The home side were put in to bat and Mark Stoneman (46 not out) hit Toby Roland-Jones for three successive sixes in the second over of the innings.

However, Roland-Jones (2-37) dismissed Phil Mustard and Ben Stokes, the latter for a duck, (0) and Tim Murtagh trapped Calum MacLeod lbw to leave Durham 56-3.

Only an hour's play was possible before the rain ended any hopes of a result.
