Sam Northeast hit a measured century to keep Kent in touch with Glamorgan on the third day at Canterbury.

Northeast shared a partnership of 151 with Sam Billings (77) as the hosts achieved a first innings lead of 58.

Glamorgan's stand-out performer was debutant off-spinner Kieron Bull who polished off the tail to return 4-62.

After losing early wickets, Chris Cooke (30) and Gareth Rees (73 not out) led a recovery by the visitors, which reached the close on 150-3.

Earlier, Northeast patiently built his second century of the season from 202 balls, containing nine fours and a six.

However, the onus will be on their bowlers on the final day with Glamorgan 92 runs ahead, as the county need a victory to boost their promotion challenge.
