Bangladesh claimed a 3-0 Test series win for the first time with a 186-run victory over Zimbabwe in Chittagong.

It was only their third series success and seventh individual Test win since they first played Test cricket in 2000.

Zimbabwe began the final day needing a further 378 with nine wickets in hand but lost their last two in the final over before tea and were 262 all out.

Bangladesh won the first match of the series by three wickets in Mirpur and the second by 162 runs in Khulna.

Bangladesh Test record since 2000

The Tigers won their first Test in 2005 at the 35th attempt when Zimbabwe were again the opponents, also in Chittagong. They went on to win that Test series 1-0.

Their only victories not against the Zimbabweans came in a 2-0 whitewash in the Caribbean in 2009, when West Indies fielded a severely weakened side because their first-choice players were on strike because of a pay dispute.

"Right from the start we believed we could win it by 3-0," Bangladesh captain Mushfiqur Rahim said.
