Jersey Premier League clubs St Ouen and Aztec Springfield are set to merge ahead of next season.
They will form a new team called St Ouen-Springfield, but the move will leave only four in the island's top division next summer.
St Ouen and Springfield finished third and fourth behind champions Farmers-Caesareans in the JPL in 2014.
Springfield for the first time in 18 years, while St Ouen last won the title in 1993.
The new team will join Farmers-Caesareans, Rathbones Old Victorians and Infrasoftech Walkovers in the Premier League in 2015.
Farmers-Caesareans was created when Farmers and Caesareans merged in 2008.
