Ireland cricketer Kevin O'Brien has joined Leicestershire for this season's T20 Blast campaign.

The experienced all-rounder joins his brother Niall at Grace Road for a six-week period from 15 May to 26 June.

O'Brien, 31, was a key member of the Ireland squad which won three matches at the ICC World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

He will play for Ireland in a One Day International against England in Dublin on 8 May before joining the Foxes.

O'Brien has played in 125 T20 games and needs just twenty more runs to reach the 2,000 mark in T20 cricket.

He has vast experience of county cricket, having had spells with Gloucestershire, Nottinghamshire, Somerset and Surrey.

In 2011 he hit the fastest-ever World Cup century as Ireland beat England.
