|Lancashire: Yet to bat|
Billy Godleman and Hashim Amla put Derbyshire in a strong position against Lancashire on day one at Southport.
After choosing to bat, openers Ben Slater (69) and Godleman (75) put on 141 runs before both fell in quick succession.
Chesney Hughes (37) and Amla (69) then enjoyed an 83-run partnership before Hughes edged Tom Bailey (3-73) behind.
Lancashire ended the day well, taking three wickets for seven runs to leave Derbyshire 335-9 at the close.
Simon Kerrigan (2-33) prospered for Lancashire, dismissing Scott Elstone (8) and Shiv Thakor for a duck in consecutive deliveries.
Amla was bowled by Kyle Jarvis (3-110) before Tom Taylor edged a low catch to slip to leave Lancashire hopeful of quickly dismissing Derbyshire in the morning.
Derbyshire's elite performance director Graeme Welch:
"I think we won the first session, drew the second session and lost the third.
"I would have liked 30 or 40 more runs and a couple of wickets fewer down but we're still in the game here.
"We've had a good look at the pitch, we've seen that it's deteriorating and we've probably learned to bowl on it."
Lancashire bowler Tom Bailey:
"We weren't on top early doors and both their batsmen are in form and played well.
"Hashim Amla is a top player and his record shows that, but I was just trying to get him out as I would do anyone else.
"You have to treat him as a normal player, otherwise you will be telling yourself you're not going to get him out."
