Minor Counties: Cornwall beat Devon by 158 runs

Brad Wadlan took six wickets as Cornwall defeated rivals Devon by 158 runs in the Western Division of the Minor Counties Championship.

Leading by 140 runs going into the final day, Matt Rowe made 101, Christian Purchase 68 and Wadland 67 as Cornwall declared on 324-5.

In reply, Wadlan tore through the Devon line-up, with tail-ender Trevor Anning top-scoring with 40 not out.

Cornwall bowled Devon out for 194 as Purchase took two wickets at Truro.

The win, a second in a row for Cornwall after beating Herefordshire in their opening game, sends them four points clear at the top of the Western Division.

Devon, who have yet to register a win after drawing with Wales in their first three-day match, are fourth-from-bottom.

Earlier in the match, Ben Green became the youngest player ever to make a century for Devon. Aged 17 years and 267 days, Green made 101 not out as Devon declared on 328-7 in their first innings.
