Leicestershire pace bowler Clint McKay has indicated he wants to extend his stay at Grace Road beyond this summer.

The 32-year-old has made a big impact in his first season with the Foxes, taking 41 wickets in nine Championship matches at an average of 27.90.

The Australian told BBC Radio Leicester: "It is just a couple of little things to get it going, but hopefully we can get that sorted out.

"Hopefully I can come back for next year and even possibly the year after."

McKay, who has played 59 one-day internationals for Australia and one Test match, has two five-wicket hauls to his name this season including a season's best 6-54 against Kent.

Leicestershire coach Andrew McDonald said this week he was hopeful his fellow countryman would be able to stay.
