Nottinghamshire knocked off the 75 runs they needed to beat Worcestershire by five wickets at New Road.
After rain delayed the start until 12:15 BST, James Taylor and Riki Wessels added 31 runs in the morning to take Notts to 188-3 at lunch.
Saeed Ajmal removed Taylor for 66 and dismissed Wessels in his next over for 88 to leave the visitors 200-5.
But Samit Patel and Chris Read settled any nerves as they took Nottinghamshire to 234-5 and victory.

Notts were struggling near the foot of the Division One table until early July, but three wins and a draw in their last four games has lifted them to fifth and just nine points off second. |
The defeat for seventh-placed Worcestershire, coupled with bottom side Hampshire's win against Warwickshire, means just five points now separate the two counties.
Taylor and Wessels, who rescued Notts from 37-3 the previous evening, had extended their partnership to 157 when Taylor lobbed a catch to Alex Gidman off Pakistan spinner Ajmal.
Wessels looked set for his second Championship century of the summer but sliced the ball into the hands of Jack Shantry to give Ajmal (2-61) his second wicket and Worcestershire a glimmer of hope.
However, Patel (17 not out) and skipper Read (19 not out) batted without any further alarm to seal a fourth win of the season for mid-table Notts.
