The rain-hit three-day Inter-Provincial game between Leinster Lightning and the Northern Knights ended in a predictable draw at Stormont on Wednesday.

In reply to Leinster's first inning of 205, the Knights started day three on 126-7 but James Shannon's 67 helped them reach 193 all out.

Fintan McAllister's 92 and John Mooney's 67 helped Leinster reach 209-4 but a draw was always inevitable.

The North West Warriors face Leinster next at Bready from 1-3 September.

The Northern Knights take eight points from the game to go to 24 from three games played, six adrift of the Warriors.

Lightning took nine points to move to 15.5, with a game in hand.
